Angkasa Pura Airports Serves 748,342 Passengers On D-7 to D-3 of Eid Al-Fitr

Passenger Movements at the Peak of Homecoming Flow on  April 29, 2022 Reached 174,910 Passengers

Jakarta - Angkasa Pura Airports was recorded to serve 748,342 passengers or an increase of 2,076 percent compared to the same period in the previous year of 34,393 passengers from D-7 to D-3 of Eid Al-Fitr period or April 25-29, 2022 at 15 managed airports.

Flight traffic also increased by 6,966 aircraft movements, an increase of 470 percent compared to the same period in the previous year of 1,223 aircraft movements.

From D-7 to D-3 of Eid Al-Fitr period, Angkasa Pura Airports was recorded to have received 407 extra flights from various national airlines with flight realization reaching 71 percent or 288 extra flights.

“On average, passenger movements from D-7 to D-3 at 15 managed airports reached 149,700 passengers per day or only 67 percent compared to the normal period before the Covid-19 pandemic with an average of 224,518 passengers per day. Meanwhile, the average flight traffic was 1,394 aircraft movements per day or only reached 73 percent compared to the normal period before the pandemic with an average of 1,917 aircraft movements per day,” President Director, of Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi said. 

Five airports with the highest passenger and aircraft movements from D-7 to D-3 of Eid Al-Fitr were Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar with 162,930 passengers and 1,240 aircraft movements, Juanda Airport in Surabaya with 159,701 passengers and 1,274 aircraft movements, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali with 123,242 passengers and 929 aircraft movements, SAMS Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan with 59,978 passengers and 623 aircraft movements and Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo with 48,463 passengers and 328 aircraft movements.

“On D-3 of Eid Al-Fitr as the peak of homecoming flow for air transportation service users, passenger movements at managed 15 airports reached 174,910 passengers with flight traffic of 1,504 aircraft movements. On D-2 period of Eid Al-Fitr, passenger and flight movements are estimated to reach 153,393 passengers and 1,393 aircraft movements,” Faik Fahmi said.

Angkasa Pura Airports predicted that the airports will serve 2.4 million passengers and 19,579 aircraft movements during the Eid Al-Fitr Transportation period from April 25 to May 10, 2022.

"We always urge all service users to comply with the applicable travel requirements of the National Task Force for Covid-19 Handling and jointly maintain the implementation of health protocols, including wearing masks, maintaining distance, always maintaining personal hygiene when traveling by air and undergoing vaccination so that the pandemic can soon be over,” Faik Fahmi added.
