Angkasa Pura Airports Ready to Implement the Latest Air Travel Regulations

Jakarta, March 8, 2022 - Angkasa Pura Airports was ready to implement the latest travel regulations for Domestic Travelers (PPDN) in line with the issuance of the RI Ministry of Transportation Circular Letter No. 21/2022 on Instructions for Implementing Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

The Circular Letter is a derivative of the Covid-19 Task Force Circular Letter No. 11/2022 on Travel Provisions for Domestic People During the Covid-19 Pandemic which was issued on March 8, 2022.

The Ministry of Transportation Circular Letter No. 21/2022 stated that the document requirements for prospective passengers using air transportation must comply with the following provisions:

  1. Each domestic traveler is required to use the PeduliLindungi application as a condition for traveling domestically.
  2. Domestic traveler who have received a second dose of vaccination or a third dose of vaccination (booster) are not required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR test or rapid antigen test;
  3. Domestic traveler who has received the first dose of vaccination is required to show a negative result of the RT-PCR test whose sample is taken within 3 x 24 hours or a rapid antigen test whose sample is taken within 1 x 24 hours before departure as a condition of travel;
  4. Domestic travelers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that prevent travelers from receiving vaccinations must show a negative result of the RT-PCR test whose sample is taken within a maximum period of 3 x 24 hours or a rapid antigen test whose sample is taken within a maximum period of 1 x 24 hours prior to departure as a travel requirement and is required to attach a doctor’s certificate from a Government Hospital stating that the person concerned has not and/or is unable to take part in the COVID-19 vaccination; or
  5. Domestic traveler under the age of 6 years can travel with a travel companion and implement strict health protocols

Angkasa Pura Airports is committed to continuing to ensure that the implementation of the Covid-19 health protocols is in accordance with applicable regulations in order to realize safe and healthy flights for all service users. AP I’s airport officers always ensure the cleanliness of public facilities, including check-in counters, trolleys, self check-in machines, security checkpoints (tray & x-ray), toilets, boarding pass scanners, handrails, and armchairs at our airports, we carry out intensive and periodic cleaning using disinfectants.

Meanwhile, operational staff on duty in airports are also equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety goggles, face shields, masks, and gloves. The airport also provides hand sanitizers in terminal areas.  In addition to the implementation of physical distancing, airports have arranged a minimum queue distance of 1,5 meters in areas, such as check in counter, security checkpoint, immigration, boarding lounge, aviobridge, baggage claim area and public transportation waiting area.

“We always urge all service users to continue to comply with the applicable travel provisions of the COVID-19 National Task Force and jointly maintain the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, always maintaining personal hygiene when traveling by air and undergoing vaccination so that the pandemic can be over soon,” Faik Fahmi added.
