Angkasa Pura Airports Profit Grew 34 Percent In 2016

JAKARTA – Angkasa Pura Airports recorded a positive performance in fiscal year of 2016 with a net profit of Rp 1.1 trillion, or an increase of 34 percent compared to the year of 2015 which amounted to Rp 841.5 billion. In addition, the company which managing 13 airports in the central region to the east part of Indonesia has managed to record an operating income (unaudited) of Rp 6.1 trillion, an increase of 18 percent compared to revenues in 2015  were recorded at Rp 5.2 trillion.

From the total revenue of Rp 6.1 trillion, Rp 3.6 trillion comes from the aeronautics business covering Landing Services, Placement and Storage Aircraft (PJPU), Passenger Aircraft Services (PJP2U), use aviobridge, counter, and the baggage handling system. While 2.5 trillion comes from non-aeronautical business, which included space rental, concession, billboards, parking, platform, longue, event promotion, and others.

“The increase in revenue was supported partly by the growth in traffic in 2016, through the addition of these carriers and program initiatives Collaborative Destination Development (CDD) in collaboration with local governments in several branches, such as airport El Tari Kupang, Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, and Adi Soemarmo Solo. This resulted in an increase in air traffic and passengers at those airports,” said the Main Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Danang S. Baskoro.

During 2016, Angkasa Pura Airport noted an increase in air traffic by 8.8 percent from 698 thousand movements in 2015 to 762 thousand movements in 2016. Passengers grew 14.3 percent, from 73.9 million passengers in 2105 to 84.7 million passengers in 2106, while cargo throughput increased by 11.4 percent from 324.8 thousand tons in 2015 to 362.5 thousand tons in 2016.

“Related to the investment program in 2016, was realized at Rp 5.96 trillion, or 87.3 percent. While the physical realization of the estimated investment of Rp 5.6 trillion or 75.6 percent of the target of 75 percent. This was due to the realization of land acquisition for the development of the New International Airport in Yogyakarta Kulonprogo,” added Danang.

Year of 2017, Angkasa Pura Airport has target revenue amounted of Rp 7.6 trillion or increasing 25.9 percent from the revenue in 2016. This revenue target one of them supported by an increase in revenue of five subsidiary of Angkasa Pura Airports, i.e Angkasa Pura Supports, Angkasa Pura Logistic, Angkasa Pura Properti, Angkasa Pura Hotel, and Angkasa Pura Retail.

“In 2017 we also focused on accelerating the developments of several airports, among others are Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin, Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang and Adi Sutjipto Airport Yogyakarta. This is an effort to overcome the lack of capacity a few airports in order to improve services for users of the airport services, which ultimately increase the company’s revenue, “exclaimed Danang.

In addition to accelerate the development of infrastructure, service quality Angkasa Pura Airports will be improved through the replacement and addition of security and safety equipment. Beside that, it is also through the way by improving the information system to realize the concept of Smart Airport, the application of Green Corporation, and Eco-Airport.
