Angkasa Pura Airports Prepare Post to Serve the Passenger of Christmas Holiday and New Year 2018

JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports was ready to welcome passengers on Christmas and New Year holidays by 2018 by performing various preparations of facilities and services to prospective passengers of air transportation services. One of the efforts was to open Christmas and New Year Air Transportation Posts 2018 at 13 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports. The post operates for 22 days from 18 December 2017 to 8 January 2018.

"Welcoming the holiday of Christmas and New Year 2018, we predict 6.02 million passenger movements or an increase of 8.26% compared to last year which reached 5.54 million passengers in 13 airports we manage Angkasa Pura Airports has been intensively coordinated with all relevant stakeholders to ensure operational and service to passengers at the airport run well and smoothly," said by Faik Fahmi, Director of Angkasa Pura Airports.

This Nataru post will operate according to airport operational hours. In addition to involving internal elements, Angkasa Pura Airports also involves partners at airports such as the Airport Authority Office, TNI, Police, BMKG, Port Health Office, airlines and ground handling. "We are also setting up CCTV networks connected with the Center of Command at Angkasa Pura Airports Central Office in Jakarta. In addition we also prepared Contact Center 172 Airport that operates 24 hours to provide information to prospective passengers of air transportation services," added by Faik.

Angkasa Pura Airports has also prepared the steps in case of emergencies and disturbances caused by natural factors. "All airports of Angkasa Pura Airports already have Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) such as Airport Disaster Management System (ADMS), which is operational handling guidance especially disaster and Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) in case of emergency at airport," Faik explained.

In the implementation of Nataru Post in 2016, the movement of passengers in 13 airports of Angkasa Pura Airports reached 5.54 million passengers or an increase of 9.73% compared to the previous year which reached 5.28 million passengers. While the movement of the plane reached 43.844 or 9.35% grew when compared to the previous year which reached 41.222 aircraft movement.

Adi Soemarmo Airport Solo became the airport that experienced the highest passenger and airplane growth at the 2016 and 2017 New Year holidays. Recorded passenger growth in Nataru 2016 at Adi Soemarmo Airport reached 194 thousand passengers or 48.15% growth compared to 2015 reached 131 thousand passengers. The growth of aircraft reached 1.381 aircraft movements or grew 48.18% compared to the previous year. [AD]
