Angkasa Pura Airports holds a cash-for-work program in Maros, South Sulawesi

MAKASSAR – Angkasa Pura Airports held a cash-for-work program at Turikale village, Turikale district in Maros regency, South Sulawesi on Sunday (03/17/2019).

The program is one of the series of activities of State-Owned Enterprise Presents for the Country which is carried out simultaneously in 10 locations throughout Indonesia in commemoration of the 21st Anniversary with SOE and SOE Ministry in 2019.

 “This cash-for-work program is not only open up employment but also an effort to empower rural communities, especially those who still need to be developed. It is also productive and prioritize the use of local resources, labor, and technology to increase income and improve community welfare," said the Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

To execute the cash-intensive program in Maros, Angkasa Pura Airports along with cement manufacturer PT Semen Tonasa holds some activities such as environmental service, painting residents' fences, cleaning waterways, conducting counseling on waste sorting, waste recycling, and disseminating information about dengue fever prevention involving 100 people from SOE’s millennial community as well as the local community.  

During the event, Angkasa Pura Airports give aids of one unit of garbage transporting motorcycles, two units of lawn mowers, and 1,000 sembako (the nine basic commodities) packages. The aids were symbolically handed over by Faik to Maros Deputy Regent Andi Harmil Mattotorang.

"The management of Angkasa Pura Airports would like to thank the Maros Regency administration and its staff as well as the community elders for their cooperation and support so that this program can run well. Hopefully this activity can provide benefits for the improvement of this region," Faik added.

"I express my gratitude toward Angkasa Pura Airports for their assistance and active role in inviting the public to jointly run this cash-intensive program. It is hoped that this activity can improve good relations between Angkasa Pura Airports and the Maros Regency administration as well as related stakeholders," Andi said.
