JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports implements social distancing in public service areas at its airports. The concept of social distancing is setting a minimum distance of at least one meter between people in the public service area by using a distance guide sticker.

The concept is carried out by Angkasa Pura Airports in accordance with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo through his speech related to the handling of the spread and impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) at the Presidential Palace in Bogor on Sunday, March 15, 2020, Circular Letter of the SOE Minister on Countermeasure for Covid-19, and President Director's Circular Letter No.: ED. 15 /KP.10.43.2020/DU on Preparedness and Prevention of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Environment.

"This is an ongoing effort of Angkasa Pura Airports in implementing the concept of social distancing in the public service area to minimize coronavirus transmission in public areas," said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

The guide sticker is posted in these following areas:

1. Inspection spots before check-in area,

2. All security check points,

3. Elevators,

4. Boarding pass check points,

5. Fix bridges and avio bridges,

6. Baggage reclaim,

7. Taxi pickup spots.

In addition, each elevator is labelled with a maximum capacity with the position facing the elevator passengers. The distance seating in the boarding lounge area is also arranged with each chair facing one direction and a person cannot sit side by side. It is done by using sticker or guidance.

"We urge both passengers and prospective passengers at the airport to be disciplined in following this appeal in order to minimize the potential of coronavirus transmission and maintain public comfort in the midst of a pandemic like this," Faik added.
