JAKARTA – Angkasa Pura Airports received a world-class prestigious award. The three airports under the management of airport operator in the central and eastern regions of Indonesia have won prestigious airport awards, Airport Service Quality Awards (ASQ Awards) organized by Airport Council International (ACI).

The awards were “Best Airports in Asia Pacific by Size: 2-5 Million Passengers per Year” for Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, and “Best Airports in Asia Pacific by Size: 5-15 Million Passengers per Year” for Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar and Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan.

“The award was announced by Airport Council International (ACI) last March and has been handed over virtually today. The award is a form of appreciation and recognition from the international aviation community as well as achievement for the hard work of all parties in maintaining the reliability of services at the airports under our management,” said President Director of  Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi.

“Despite being under the pressure of this difficult global pandemic, we always strive to continue to provide excellent service to all airport service users, and consistently implement strict health protocols at the airports under our management. Safety, security, and health aspects are required to be able to go hand in hand with the comfort aspect. Despite the difficult challenge, we always strive to realize the aspects,” he continued.

ASQ Awards is the only benchmarking program for measuring passenger satisfaction level at world airports organized by ACI, the world’s airports organization based in Montreal, Canada. 89 airports have won 108 awards during the event.

Faik Fahmi also stated that the award has been achieved due to the hard work of all the Company’s personnel. “On behalf of the Management, allow me to express my highest gratitude and appreciation to all PT Angkasa Pura I’s personnel for their hard work and sacrifices thus far, especially during this difficult times. Hopefully, the award would be a source of encouragement for all of us to always give the best for the company,” Faik Fahmi added.

Quoted from the official release, the Director General of ACI World, Luis Felipe de Oliveira stated the importance of the voice of the customer in the aviation industry. “Amid the most challenging year in the history of our industry, ACI’s ASQ Awards recognize airport members that have been prioritized listening and responding to the voice of the consumer - this has never been more important,” he said.

Previously, ten airports under the management of Angkasa Pura Airports obtained Airport Customer Experience Accreditation Program accreditation from ACI. The certification received on August, 2019 was due to the Company’s commitment to listening to the voice of the consumer and translating it into service improvements.

“We always listen to the voice of the consumer, in the form of criticism, suggestion, and input. This aims to improve level of service and to provide a memorable customer experience while at our airports,” Faik Fahmi concluded.
