Support Air Travel Restriction, Angkasa Pura Airports Prepares Inspection Posts

JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports has set up security and inspection posts to check people travelling through its 15 airports as well as other measures starting May 7, 2020.

This is an effort to smoothen passengers’ travel during the Ramadan exodus ban period which is limited to certain criteria in accordance with COVID-19 Rapid Response Team Circular Letter No. 4 of 2020 on Criteria of Travel Restrictions In Order to Accelerate COVID-19 Response.

During a virtual working meeting with House of Representatives’ Commission V on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said all modes of transportation are planned to resume operations on Thursday, May 7, 2020 with restrictions on passenger criteria.

It is followed by the issuance of Circular Letter of COVID-19 rapid response team as a complement to the regulation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and arrangements related to the use of transportation modes during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1441 Hijri in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"Angkasa Pura Airports welcomes and supports the Government's instruction by establishing security and inspection posts at airports, equipped with facilities based on health protocol in accordance with Transportation Ministry Decree No.18 of 2020 on Transportation Management In Order to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 and Transportation Ministry Decree No. 25 of 2020 on Transportation Management during Ramadan Exodus In Order to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19," said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

In addition, Angkasa Pura Airports also provides and implements slot time recommendations should airlines propose changes in flight schedules according to the operating hours of each airport.

The operating hours adjustments for each airport in Angkasa Pura Airports during this pandemic are as follow:

1. Juanda International Airport in Surabaya from 06:00 – 18:00 from May 6 - July 22, 2020.

2. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali from 07:00 – 02:00 from May 6 - May 31, 2020.

3. Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar from 06:00 – 19:00 from May 1 - May 31, 2020.

4. Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan from 06:00 – 18:00 from April 8 – May 29, 2020.

5. Adisutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta from 05:00 – 18:00 from May 1 - May 31, 2020.

6. Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo from 6:00 to 17:00 from April 24 – June 1, 2020.

7. Adi Soemarmo International Airport in Solo from 08:00 – 16:00 from April 25 – May 31, 2020.

8. General Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang from 06:00 – 18:00 from May 1 – May 31, 2020.

9. Lombok International Airport in Praya from 09:00 – 15:00 from May 2 – June 1, 2020.

10. El Tari International Airport in Kupang from 06:00 – 18:00 from May 2 – May 29, 2020.

11. Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin from 08:00 – 17:00 from April 29 – May 31, 2020.

12. Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado from 07:00 – 18:00 from May 5 – June 1, 2020.

13. Pattimura International Airport in Ambon from 07:00 – 15:00 from May 1 – May 31, 2020.

14. Frans Kaisiepo International Airport in Biak from 6:00 to 10:00 from May 7 – May 16, 2020.

15. Sentani International Airport in Jayapura from 06:00 - 17:30 from April 30 – May 31, 2020.

Angkasa Pura Airports always pay attention to health protocols and Minister of Transportation Regulation No. PM 18 of 2020 on Transportation Management In Order to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 as well as coordinating with the Airport Authorities, the Port Health Office (KKP), police, Indonesian military, local administrations, COVID-19 regional task force and other relevant agencies.
