Fully Operates On March 29, Yogyakarta International Airport Supported With Multimodal Transportation

JAKARTA - Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo, which will be fully operational on Sunday, March 29, has been supported by a fairly comprehensive multimodal transport. This makes it easier for airport service users switch the transport mode when traveling via YIA.

The multimodal transport includes airport shuttle provided by Damri and SatelQu, taxi, special rental transportation and trains to get to the center of Yogyakarta City and some areas around Yogyakarta Province such as Cilacap, Kebumen, Purwokerto, Purworejo, Banjarnegara, Wonosobo, and others.

"This multimodal transportation is an effort of Angkasa Pura Airports together with other land transportation stakeholders, both regulators and transportation service operators, to provide comfort for passengers who will travel via YIA. Hopefully, the splendor and artistic as well as cultural values at YIA that is equipped with multimodal transportation will provide a memorable travel experience for airport service users,” said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

Damri

To reach YIA from the city center of Yogyakarta, passengers can choose several departure points from land transportation service providers. For Damri shuttle bus services, there are several departure points with an estimated travel time of one to two hours, as follows:

     * Adisutjipto-YIA Airport: 2 hours

     * Malioboro-YIA: 1.5 hours

     * Ambarketawang-YIA: 1 hour

The departure points to YIA are at Adisutjipto Airport, Damri Pool, Jl. Affandi, Galeria Mall, UGM Traffic Circle, Sleman Citi Hall, Borobudur Temple, Grand Inna Malioboro, Limaran Hotel, Ambarketawang Rest Area, Wojo Station, and Kebumen. The estimated cost ranges from Rp25,000 to Rp70,000 depending on the distance. While the operational hours are from 03:00 to 20:00 local time with a headway of 30 minutes at Ambarketawang departure point and Maguwo Station (Adisutjipto International Airport).

SatelQu

To reach YIA from the city center of Yogyakarta using the SatelQu shuttle bus, passengers can choose three routes: north route, center route and south route with an estimated travel time of one to two hours depending on the distance from the departure point. The cost is estimated at Rp50,000 to Rp70,000.

The details of the SatelQu routes are as follow:

1. North route: Maguwo (Adisutjipto Intenational Airport) - Grand Keisha Hotel - Prime Hotel - UC UGM Hotel - Phoenix Hotel - Amartya Hotel - Ambarketawang Rest Area - YIA

2. Central route: Adisutjipto International Airport - Eastparc Hotel - Grand Mercure Hotel - Pesonna Tugu Hotel - Grand Serella - Jombor Terminal - Amartya Hotel - Ambarketawang Rest Area - YIA

3. Southern route: Adisutjipto International Airport - Jogja Expo Center (JEC) - The Cube Hotel - YATS Colony - Ambarketawang Rest Area - YIA.

 

SatelQu shuttle bus has a headway of 30 minutes at Ambarketawang departure point and 60 minutes at Maguwo Station (Adisutjipto International Airport). Apart from the YIA-Yogyakarta route, SatelQu also serves routes in cities around Yogyakarta namely Cilacap, Purwokerto, Kebumen, Jombor, Purworejo, Wonosobo, and Banjarnegara.

 

Taxis and Special Rental Transportation

In addition to Damri and SatelQu airport shuttles, passengers can also take airport taxis such as Rajawali, JAS, Pataga and Golden Bird Premium Transportation, which can be ordered according to flight schedules at YIA. For online taxis, GrabCar or GrabTaxi are officially operating at YIA and can be ordered through the Grab application.

 

If passengers want to rent a car from YIA to visit tourism destinations around Kulon Progo and Yogyakarta, they can order special rental transportation such as KSU Putra Galih, Inkoppol, and Jaladipa.

 

Faster by Train

For land transportation with quicker travel time, passengers can take a train which is divided into two types, the Airport Train and the Prambanan Ekspress (Prameks), with travel time of 45 minutes to 60 minutes. The airport train departure route is Yogyakarta Station - Wates Station - Wojo Station with an estimated cost of Rp25,000. Meanwhile, Prameks train departure route is Maguwo Station - Lempuyangan Station - Yogyakarta Station - Wates Station - Wojo Station. From Wojo Station, YIA can be reached in 10 minutes using the Damri shuttle bus.

 

With a variety of land transportation options to and from YIA, it will be easier for passengers travelling to and from Yogyakarta.
