Makassar – Angkasa Pura Airports of the Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar International Airport disbursed loans worth Rp 730 million to 20 small scale business partners in Makassar and Maros Regency under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program of Angkasa Pura Airports for Phase I in 2014. The loans were managed under the Finance and IT Department, and signed by Kukuh and Wagimun Ipoeng  Head of the Department in Makassar, on Wednesday.

Kukuh said that these loans were channeled to 5 small-scale business partners in Makassar amounting to Rp 130 million and to 25 small-scale business partners in Maros Regency amounting to Rp 600 million. “The purpose of this program is to stimulate the economic growth of the local people that is expected to further enhance the prosperity of the local people and reduce unemployment. We hope that these loans will be utilized maximally to develop their business,” he said.

According to Kukuh, these loans are revolving funds that will be re-channeled as loans to the other small businesses needing funding, thus their commitment to repay the loans is very important. Meanwhile, Wagimun Ipoeng said that the disbursement of these funds for 2014 will be divided into three phases totaling to Rp 2.9 billion.

“Our partners come from various business sectors such as industry, farming, handcrafts, fisheries and others. This is a flat loan with 6% interest per year, and in the second year they can repay the loan in installments,” he said. Wagiman further explained that in the previous years, the company had disbursed Rp 2.7 billion to 80 small-scale business partners. He said the company also provided grants amounting to Rp 1 billion for education, infrastructures and to build worship facilities.

One of the borrowers, Samsul, from Kaemba Village, Marusu District, Maros Regency admitted that he was happy with the loan from Angkasa Pura because he can use it to expand his working capital for his business. Samsul is running the crab farm business from export-excess crabs. He buys soft-shell crabs for Rp 40 thousand per head, then he cultivates the crabs in a week so that the selling price of the crabs can be doubled to Rp 80 thousand per head.

The partnership companion from Cooperation and Trade Authorities of Maros Regency, Zainuddin, affirmed that the applied partnership by Angkasa Pura Airports branch of Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar International Airport is the best one from the State-Owned Enterprises, from the financial administration as well as the Small and Medium Enterprises development.
