SINGAPORE – Angkasa Pura I is taking a part in the Tax Free World Association (TFWA) Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore, from 11 May 2014 to 15 May 2014. TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference is a forum in which all industry players in duty free, travel retail business and airport service providers in Asia Pacific region gather and share information. This is the first time since 2008 for Angkasa Pura I -as one of the state-owned enterprises managing and providing airport services-  to attend such annual international forum as an exhibitor along with 255 other exhibitors.

“By attending this event, Angkasa Pura I has proven to be serious in realizing the transformation process in the company. As an airport service provider, Angkasa Pura I recognizes the importance of managing the retailers, especially in the airport commercial area. This is a golden opportunity for us to invite world class retailers to open outlets in the airports that we manage in Indonesia,” said the Marketing and Business Development Director of Angkasa Pura I Robert Daniel Waloni.

According to Waloni, having retail outlets of famous international brands such as Yves Rocher, Lego Group, Hermes, Nestle, Philip Morris, P&G, Hugo Boss, Unilever, Versace and many other brands , we will be able to open wide opportunities to establish international partnerships with the duty free and travel retail industries.

In addition to participating in this forum , Angkasa Pura I plans to establish a retail subsidiary – Angkasa Pura Retails- as a strategic move to increase non-aeronautical earnings, The Angkasa Pura Retails has the vision to become the biggest retailer in South East Asia and is prepared to implement the 2015 ASEAN Single Aviation Market (ASAM).  In 2013, the earnings from non-aeronautical sector of Angkasa Pura increased 52.51% from the earnings of last year and contributed 39.3% of the company’s total earnings.  In 2014, the target for this sector is to contribute 52.1% to the company’s earnings.[Pardika Dewi Retno S.]
