Angkasa Pura Airports (Persero) Maintains Informative Public Agency Award From Central Information Commission

JAKARTA – Angkasa Pura Airports (Persero) has succeeded in maintaining its award as an Informative Public Agency from the Central Information Commission (KIP) at the 2021 Public Information Openness Award. Angkasa Pura Airports (Persero) as a state-owned enterprise managing 15 airports in the central and eastern regions of Indonesia received a score of 90.26 from the results monitoring and evaluation (monev) carried out by the Central Information Commission in the second semester of 2021.

The “Informative” classification is the best award that can be achieved by public agencies providing public information services. Under the “Informative” classification, there are other classifications, including “Ongoing Informative”, “Informative Enough”, “Less Informative”, and “Uninformative”.

The award was announced by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin virtually on Tuesday (26/10), and received by the President Director of Angkasa Pura Airports (Persero), Faik Fahmi.

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin emphasized the importance of public information services. “This event is a great opportunity for public agencies to continue to accelerate their best-efforts regarding information disclosure through various relentless innovations. The management of public information disclosure is carried out to encourage public participation to realize good and transparent government governance,” the Vice President, Ma’ruf Amin said.

“The assessment results are also expected to be a means of introspection for all public agencies to continue to maintain and improve the performance of public services and their productivity, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Congratulations to the public agencies that obtained informative qualifications,” he added.

Meanwhile, AP I’s President Director, Faik Fahmi stated that this award is a proof of the Company’s commitment in providing public information services. “Thank God, we managed to maintain our achievements as an Informative Public Agency this year. This is the result of our commitment to providing public information services to the wider community, as well as an effort to realize good, clean, and transparent corporate governance,” he said.

“We continuously improve the implementation of public information services, through digital media optimization and competence development of the Information Management and Documentation Officers (PPID), both at the Head Office and branch offices in the 15 managed airports. This is intended to further improve the quality of service,” Faik Fahmi added.

Angkasa Pura Airports (Persero) consistently makes innovations related to the optimization of digital media, including:

  1. Creating a website for public information services with the address: www.ppid.ap1.co.id which is integrated with the company’s main website;
  2. Optimizing the online information request feature through a website, which is integrated with PPID’s e-mail;
  3. Making animated video tutorials for requesting information that can be accessed on the website;
  4. The company's official social media activation that prioritizes creative, informative, and educational contents;
  5. Collaboration with other agencies in the process of providing, serving, and disseminating information.

In addition to innovation in digital media, business process strengthening is also carried out through the following steps:

  1. Approval of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for public information services, a guideline for information services;
  2. Socialization and coordination between Head Office PPID and Branch Office PPID at 15 airports;
  3. Making animated video tutorials on public information request to facilitate the public to understand the flow of services;
  4. Information updates on the website www.ppid.ap1.co.id, including the addition of an information service satisfaction survey form.

The Public Information Openness Award was organized by the Central Information Commission (KIP) to evaluate the implementation of Law No. 14/2008 on Public Information Disclosure. The categories of public agencies assessed are Ministries, State Agencies and Non-Ministerial Government Agencies (LP/LPNK), Provincial Governments, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Non-Structural Institutions, Political Parties, and State Universities. In 2021, 337 public agencies participated in the monitoring and evaluation (monev) process.

For information, of the 337 public agencies participating in the monitoring and evaluation process, 83 public agencies (25%) fall into the “Informative” category, and 63 public agencies (19%) fall into the “Ongoing Informative” category. The number of public agencies increased from 2020, where there were only 60 public agencies in the “Informative” category and 34 public agencies in the “Ongoing Informative” category.

“In the future, we are committed to continuously improve performance and innovate, not only to maintain the achievements as an "Informative" public agency from the Central Information Commission, but also as part of our commitment to provide public information services to the public,” Faik Fahmi concluded.
